Radio Kashmir Jammu organizes Gojri Mushaira, Musical Concert
Radio Kashmir Jammu organised a Gojri Mushaira and a Gojri Musical Concert in collaboration with “Baba Nizami Bazm-e-Adab” at Surankote” in the memory of great Parliamentarian, luminary, visionary and social activist of the region Chowdhary Mohammad Aslam.
On the occasion, the special guests were Vice Chairman State Advisory Board for the development of Gujjar and Bakkerwal Choudhary Zaffer Ali Khatana, MLA Kangan Mian Altaf Ahmad and MLA Surankote Choudhary Mohammad Akram.
Station Director Radio Kashmir Jammu VK Sambyal presented the welcome address.
The three hour long event started with the Mushaira. Eminent poets of Gojri language showered their immaculate poems and enthralled the crowd with their vivid vision, insight and craftsmanship of the language.
Vice chairman Choudhary Zaffer Ali Khatana said that such programmes will bring the people into main stream as well strengthen the roots of cultural harmony.
MLA Mian Altaf Ahmad in his presidential address said “It is the only media which has its reach to far flung and hilly areas of the State and I believe that its future is bright”, he said, adding that by organizing such programmes Radio Kashmir Jammu is doing a wonderful job.
He suggested that programmes on social, literary and visionary personalities should be organized in future as these will be a great source of inspiration in youths and helpful in strengthening cultural traditions and moral values.
The eminent poets who took part in the event included Rayaz Ahmad Sabir, Abdul Hamid Anees, Atta Ullah Shad, Mukhtar Hussain Majaz, Prof Fateh Mohammad Abbasi, Abdul Ghani Perdesi, Sheikh Zahoor, Dr Amir Hussain Shah, Mohammad Bashir Lohar, Jalal Din Fani, Sheikh Azad Ahmad Azad, Prof MK Waqar, Shokat Shad and Haji Mohammad Bashir.
Mohammad Jahangir Asghar presented an elaborate paper on the contribution of Choudhary Mohammad Aslam.
The proceedings were conducted by the popular presenter of Gojri Programme, Hassan Perwaz.
The second half of the event focussed on the Folk Music. Those who performed in the concert included Bashir Mastana, Ayaz Ahmad Saif, Gulnaz Ahmad Chouhan, Master Kartar Chand and Muzamal Shah.
MLA Surankote Choudhary Mohammad Akram said that radio still has its purity, morality and sanctity in its programmes which are liked by listeners.
The programme officers Nitish Arora, Rajesh Gupta, Sanjeev Sharma and Anjana Badyal from Radio Kashmir Jammu co-ordinated the entire event.
The officials of the civil administration, prominent citizens and people from all walks of life attended the event in large numbers.
