All India Radio mourns the loss of our beloved Praveen Kumar
Singh who passed away on August 15, while recuperating after a major surgical
operation of liver and kidney transplant in Chennai. Everyone was hoping for
his speedy recovery, but, unfortunately at 2:00 AM, he passed away leaving
everyone in shock. All India Radio held a condolence meeting in the Fielden
Hall of the Akashvani Bhawan to condole the death of Mr P.K. Singh.
Director General of All India Radio, Fayyaz Sheheryar, on
behalf of the entire Akashvani family condoled the loss of Mr. P.K. Singh
saying, "We are shocked by the sudden demise of our friend Mr. P. K.
Singh. In this hour of grief, we pray to the Almighty to grant peace to his
soul and wish for strength to the family to deal with his loss"
A resilient man, Mr. Singh had in the past couple of years
suffered a heart attack and two brain strokes. Despite that, Mr. Singh was a
happy soul. Owing to severe damage to his kidney and liver, he underwent liver
and kidney. The liver was donated by his loving and obedient elder son and his
maternal uncle donated the kidney. But, unfortunately, on the sad day, it was
proved that God loved him more and, he, therefore, chose to ignore our prayers.
A man of exceptional talent and constant determination, Mr.
Singh was the current President of IBES Officers Association. He had been, in
the past, also, elected the youngest Council Member and Honorary Secretary of
Broadcast Engineering Society (India) and the youngest Joint Secretary, General
Secretary and the President of AIR and
DD Engineering Association.
Calling Mr. Singh a man of empathy, Mr. Sheheryar lamented
that, "the sudden death of Mr. Singh has created a void for Akashvani."
Mr. Singh is survived by his wife and two children - Manu and Parth. In this
time of grief and sorrow, the entire Akashvani family bemoans the loss of a
dynamic officer who will be cherished.
