All India Radio's Sound Archives in collaboration with India Habitat Centre Delhi organised a guided listening session covering musical artistry of "Mallika-e-Ghazal Begum Akhtar" on 23rd June, 2012 under the series 'Kaaljayee Swar Sampada'. The audio-visual session on Begum Akhtar's musical journey was conducted by her senior most disciple Vidushi Shanti Hiranand. The programme had some rare audio/video clippings of Begum Akhtar. Shanti Ji recalled some interesting anecdotes from her long association with her mentor. The programme was very well received by the connoisseurs who came in large number.
