AIR receives appreciation for programmes supporting people of flood hit Jammu and Kashmir

New Delhi, Sept. 23 (ANI): All India Radio (AIR) has been receiving a deluge of messages cutting across sections of the society for carrying out programmes in support of rescue, relief and rehabilitation activities in flood hit Jammu and Kashmir.

Right after the resumption of Radio Kashmir, Srinagar's FM station from its makeshift studios at Shankaracharya Hills and then of Medium Wave transmitter at Narbal, it has been airing vital information related with disaster management and rehabilitation; helpline numbers were also announced.
Besides, many regular broadcasts including some special audience programmes have been restored to bring solace to suffering people of flood ravaged Kashmir.

The programmes were suitably anchored by soothing music to help the grieving people and bring them out of it eventually.
Even Chief Minister and top ranking officials from various concerned departments have visited the Radio Kashmir FM Transmitter atop Shankaracharya Hills to broadcast their special messages.

The high spirited Programme, Engineering and other staff members of Radio Kashmir, Srinagar have striven tirelessly to uplift the morale of those marooned in the valley with their broadcasts.
