Well founded on the ideals of Public Service Broadcast, All India Radio has played a stellar role in nurturing India’s Heritage and fortifying its diversified culture. Rendering unfeigned support for the cause of Indian Classical Music through popularization, promotion and preservation has been AIR’s hall mark. Started way back in the year 1954, Akashvani Sangeet Sammelan has evolved as a strong brand name for All India Radio in the mind space of connoisseurs for over six decades. It is an annual music event organized all over the country featuring both eminent artistes and upcoming youngsters from the stream of Hindustani and Carnatic Classical Music. No artiste of national and international eminence has ever missed out from being featured in the prestigious event, a much sought after by both artistes and connoisseurs.

Akashvani Sangeet Sammelan 2015
This year’s Akashvani Sangeet
Sammelan Concerts will be held at 24
venues on 10th
October, 2015 (Saturday) featuring many eminent and promising artists
from across the country. This music mosaic will showcase artistes from the
streams of Hindustani, Carnatic, Light and Folk Music.
The evening concerts for Hindustani
and Carnatic music will be held at 15 venues i.e. Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai,
Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Indore, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Jalandhar, Goa, Nagpur, Thiruvanathapuram,
Mangaluru and Thrissur .
The morning concerts only
for Hindustani music will be held at 3 venues i.e. Agartala, Raipur and Jammu .
The
evening concerts for Folk and Light music will be held at 6 places i.e. Dehradun,
Ranchi, Rohtak, Jodhpur, Coimbatore and Vijayawada.
Main Artistes - 63 (Hindustani Music–26, Carnatic
Music–14 & Light & Folk Music-23) and more than 150 accompanists will participate
in the event.
These concerts will be
scheduled for broadcast on the National hook-up between 7th Nov. 2015
and 13th Dec. 2015.
