An acclaimed city flautist Ravinder Singh was honoured by the All-India Radio Jalandhar at the 63rd Annual Akashavni Sangeet Sammelan held at Tagore Theatre late last evening.
A graded artist of the AIR since 1978, Ravinder Singh has made an astounding contribution to Hindustani classical music, light music and regional folk music. He is a versatile composer and performer from the AIR-New Delhi, and AIR-Jalandhar, said Santosh Rishi, assistant director, AIR-Jalandhar.
He has accompanied legends like Sitara Devi, Pandit Gopi Krishna, Jagjit Singh, Reshma and dramas by eminent directors.
Santosh Rishi joined by eminent guru Pandit Yaspaul, Pandit Dr Harvinder Sharma besides MR Chandla, Paramjit Singh and Rajinder Rana of the AIR presented a shawl, memento and citation to Ravinder Singh. — TNS
