India in Men’s Hockey Q-Finals after 36 years

It is to be seen if Indian Men Hockey Team will script history or not at 31st Summer Olympics Rio, 2016? After a gap of 36 years India has made it to the Quarter Finals, it was in the 1980 Moscow games they had reached stage 8 and had won their "last" Olympic title.
Once again, with luck in their favour, India has moved up to the Quarter Finals, even after losing yesterday's group match with Netherlands by 1-2. They gained points as match between Argentina and Germany was held draw by 4-4. India is now on the third spot in the Pool B standings, with six points from four matches. Their next and last match of the pool is with Canada, on Friday. Even if they lose against Canada in their last group match on Friday they will make it to the last eight stage.
All India Radio wishes the Indian Hockey Team all the best for the coming matches.
